Why UI is still relevant in the Agentic era

Everyone is talking about the death of UI. Agents are taking over, prompts are the new interface, and some believe clicking buttons is a thing of the past. But is that really true?

In this session, we challenge that narrative. We look at why UI is not going away and why in many cases, it is actually becoming more important in the agentic era, not less. We explore the gap that exists on both sides: users don’t always express intent perfectly, and agents don’t always understand it correctly. UI fills that gap. It provides structure, guidance, discoverability, and trust things a prompt alone cannot always deliver.

We also look at how the industry is already moving in this direction. From Salesforce’s Custom Lightning Types and AXL to Google’s A2UI protocol and Apple Intelligence App Intents/ he trend is not UI vs. agents, it is UI inside agents. We will show real examples of how this works in practice, including customer implementations where rich UI components like cards, forms, and action buttons are rendered directly inside agent conversations.
